Lutheran Social Services became an Accredited Adoption Service Provider and LSS continues to renew our certificate yearly. Our certificate allows us to partner with one local (Kenyan) Adoption Society authorized to conduct international adoption work. Our partner agency in Kenya is Kenya Children’s Home Society (KCH). Kenya is part of the Hague Adoption Convention.

Adoption from Kenya is a unique yet challenging journey which includes an in country stay of 10-15 months. Kenya is perfect for the family who has work flexibility and the desire to live in Kenya to experience life in Africa.

Eligibility Criteria

• Age requirements – 25 and older
• Married couples married 3 years
• Single women on a case-by-case basis
• More than 21 years older than child
• Ability to be in country for 10-15 months or longer
• Adoption process is the same for US Citizens who are former Kenya nationals seeking relative adoption

Children Available

• Age: 15 months and older
• Tested HIV Negative (Special Needs children with HIV positive status are available for adoption)
