 Family Information

Full Names: Ryan and Stephanie

Number of Years Married: 9

Number of Children age(s): 1 Son (Age 5) Adopted from Colombia

Religion: Christian

Child Care Plans: Both Ryan and Stephanie plan to take time off when the baby arrives. Stephanie plans to spend the first 12 weeks at home with the baby. Both of us have flexible jobs to help minimize the amount of time in child care. While we are at work, the baby will go to an in-home provider (a close family friend) where the baby will be given lots of love and one-on-one attention.

Pets and Names: Willard (beagle/lab mix); Bailey (cat); Gus (cat), Milo (Boxer)

Ethnicity: Caucasian

City Type: Small City

Years lived here: We have lived here all of our life.

Community/Neighborhood: Small city with many nice schools and parks. We are within 10 minutes of both of our parents making it easy to visit the grandpas and grandmas. We have a local public pool which is very nice for swimming in the summer. We live just outside of the city where there are many deer, turkeys, birds and other wildlife can be seen.  Our town is centrally located making it a short drive to the "big" city or up north to the family cabin.  There are many great families in our neighborhood, and even an annual neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt for the kids!

Holidays: Stephanie loves decorating for all of the holidays.  We spend our holidays with our extended families including grandparents, parents, brothers, nieces, nephews, aunts uncles and cousins.  Holidays are always laid back just enjoying eachother's company.  For Christmas we started our own family tradition of going to the tree farm and cut down our own Christmas tree. We always have a quiet morning at home on Christmas morning to enjoy the excitement from Santa coming to visit.  Each year we also celebrate Adoption Day to recognize and celebrate the amazing way our family was made.  We would love to learn about any family traditions you would like to share.

Family Gatherings: We get together at the family cabin up north for campfires, fishing and just being together. We also enjoy going swimming and grilling out at grandpa and grandma’s house.

Vacations: We go on many mini vacations throughout the year including an annual trip to Wisconsin Dells. We love visiting new hotels and water parks as well as going on camping adventures.  Additionally, Ryan and I enjoy traveling to new places.  We've visited Mexico, the Dominican Republic and San Diego in recent years.  We are looking forward to taking many family vacations and eventually visiting Mickey Mouse's house as well as returning to Colombia where Logan was born.

Dear BirthParent,

Hello. Just a little over four years ago, we became a family of three, through the gift of adoption. We love being parents, and we want nothing more than to complete our family through an open adoption. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us as you consider making an adoption plan for your baby.

As a couple we have been together for as long as we can remember. We started dating in high school, we were married in 2002, and the rest is history. Our marriage is based on honesty, respect and communication. We believe strongly in the commitment of marriage and family.

Ryan enjoys fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and camping. Ryan is the younger of two children. Ryan works as a CNC Programmer for the past 9 years. He enjoys grilling and going on family picnics.

Stephanie enjoys reading, fishing, camping and traveling. She is the older of two children. Stephanie works as a Project Coordinator for the past 7 years. She is currently working on completing her Master’s degree so that she can pursue a career as an online instructor. This opportunity will allow her to pursue her career goals, while allowing her to be home part-time with our children and have a schedule that will allow her to be more flexible.

Logan is 5 years old. Logan loves trains, cars and books. He especially loves to sing and help out in the kitchen. Logan loved playing soccer this fall and having daddy as the assistant coach. Logan is very excited about becoming the big brother!

As parents, we value individuality, integrity and respect. We are dedicated to advocating for our children’s best interest no matter what the need may be. We understand the commitment and sacrifices we need to make as parents. We talk candidly about adoption in our home. Our children will always know the unconditional love that both their birth parents and we have for them. We are fully committed to carrying out an open adoption plan that is based on honesty and open communication. To learn more about us please visit www.adoptionsmakefamilieshappen.jimdo.com

We thank you for taking the time to get to know our family a little better. We wish you peace, strength and courage as you make an adoption plan for your baby.

Best Wishes,

Ryan and Stephanie
